LOOSE SWEATSHIRT

I wore a loose sweatshirt to work today,
So loose that I hardly felt it on me,
Even when it got wet from the coffee I spilled,
Or when I soiled the sleeve with curry I was eating,
It got a little tear from getting stuck on a nail
I, however, didn't realise this till much later,
So loose that I kept moving my arms all day,
Pleased to be free when I was struck by a thought,
If only I could wear my skin as loose,
Loose enough to not realise
The trivial losses which I currently mourn over,
Loose enough for my soul to be free,
To cheerfully move around!

उधङी यादों के साथ
मैंने पहन रखी है
एक पुरानी सी स्वेटशर्ट
जो तुम मेरे लिए
ले आई थी, बेवजह।
मगर ये, इस शीतदंश (Frostbite)
वाली सर्दी में भी
तपिश, आराम, और सुकून
दे रही है।
हूबहू वैसे ही,
जैसे तुम्हे ओढ़कर,
मैं सर्द रातें खिङकी के
बाहर रखकर सो जाया करता था ।
