Of all others, why me?
The other day they...my 'friends'
said I can't sit on the boys' row,
I dozed off on Raj's shoulder
on the school bus on way home,
he exchanged seats with someone
I've never known.
They push me down on ground,
say I don't belong- I don't know,
I'm a human, too.
Class 5 A is infamous because of me,
I walk in and all look away,
It wasn't like this till the new
'sex education' class.
Mom loves me, so does dad,
but teacher turns his face
away from me, the clock strikes 4
I rush to grab a window seat.
Lately mom's been telling me,
the other name of 'gay' is happy.
She says I should find
my nepenthe in piano,
which they say I'm great at,
and I think, gradually,
I'm getting happier.
