The Story of a Zebra

Zebra, in her love, kicks her baby/foal,
Nobody would think it good but a Gaby/fool.
With the fear of harsh-kick instability
The baby finds its ability.

Baby, in excruciating pain,
Does receive the lifelong gain.
In no hour, it stands on its feet
From the moment it is born in any street.

They were no Romeo and Juliet,
Just ordinary people
who had seen the darkness
and found their way to the light.
They never died for love
but survived life.
After every setback, every blow,
they came back,
stronger and more resilient.

Their souls on fire,
Occasionally they came
together in love,
Their union- a bright orb
gleaming with light,
hope and courage.

Yes he's been broken down
and completely messed around.
Has been taken to the heights
and suddenly dropped down.

BUT

He picked himself up
put the pieces together again and
washed away the dirt.
He may have lost the move
but not the courage and game,
and now, resilience
is his new name.

Resilience.
Yes, I come from a people,
Widely known
For strength and versatility--
The way we brave adversity
With cheerful smiles
On our weather-beaten faces;
Yet, that doesn't endow you
With the privileged license
To callously use me
Nor abuse me.

Faith!
Stay stalwartly cheerful--
Amidst the deafening chaos;
Remain staunchly hopeful--
Despite the insidious stains.
You have a beauteous purpose;
Preserve that obdurate magic
Within your waning self.
Strength!
