जो पास था उससे शिकायत हज़ार रही

मुझे कई टुकड़ों में बांटा गया ऐसे
पहचान बहुत मिली पर इंसानियत छूटती रही

दिल है कि बस उसके नाम पे धड़कता है
पर दुनिया मुझे रीत कई सिखाती रही

ख्वाहिशें मेरी भी इतिहास नया रचती
पर कभी जमाने से तो कभी खुद से डरती रही

टूटे फूटे ख्वाबों पर
घनघोर अँधेरा छाया है,
एक नहीं दो नहीं न जाने
कितनी रातों का साया है,
घनघोर अँधेरा छाया है।
हमतुम दौड़ लगाते हैं
हररोज कई कई मीलों के,
परवाह नहीं है हमको
कुछ भी चुभते कीलों के,
ऐ मंजिल के रस्ते बता
हैं तेरे कितने सारे मुख,
आड़ी तिरछी राहों से
क्यों हमको भरमाया है,
एक नहीं दो नहीं न जाने
कितनी रातों का साया है
घनघोर अँधेरा छाया है।
