قرآن کہتا ہے
مجھے یاد کرو گے تو 'حافظ' بن جاؤگے
مجھے سنوار کر پڑھو گے تو' قاری' بن جاؤ گے
مجھے پڑھانے بیٹھوگے تو 'استاد' بن جاؤ گے
میرا ترجمہ کرو گے تو 'عالم' بن جاؤ گے
میری تشریح کرو گے تو'مفسر' بن جاؤ گے
میری تقریر کروگے تو 'مبلغ' بن جاؤ گے
میرے مطابق فیصلہ کرو گے تو 'قاضی' بن جاؤ گے
مجھ پر عمل کرو گے تو 'ولی اللّه' بن جاؤ گے

For We assuredly sent amongst every People an apostle, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).

तू गुमराह कैसे हो गया अपने मुकाम से,
अब लौट आ इधर मैं अफजल किताब हूं।
फुरसत अगर मिलें तो मुझे पढ़ना जरूर,
मैं तेरी हर उलझनों का मुक्कमल जवाब हूं।
