Hello!
I am starting a poetry challenge for myself. I will be writing one poem every day for the next hundred days. The poems on some days will be good, on some days mediocre and sometimes pure crap. The aim is to not create a masterpiece every day but to make myself sit and write. We are writers and poets not because of the quality of the writing we produce but for the fact that we write despite realising how bad we are and how far we have to go.

A HYMN FOR THE BAD DAYS

On certain nights in a starry sky,
poetry falls smoothly onto paper,
giving romantic outlines
to the brilliance of each star.
But in the dark sky nights,
when the infinite seems to fall on us,
poetry replaces the stars,
illuminating the darkness of words.

Now the things
aren't the same
Because it doesn't bother
when I hear your name

Wo barbaad sa
bekar sa
Wo bedaag sa
kuch paakh sa
Wo laal sa
par pyaar sa
Wo bemehek sa
aur sukha sa
Wo diary k panno
k beech rakha hua
Wo gulaab mujhe
aaj bhi tum
tak le jaata hai
Wo ab talak bhi
tumhari yaad dilaata
hai.

In this world full of lies
I hope to make humanely ties
With people as friends
Rather than odds and ends

वो अगर जा रहा है तो जाने दो,
है उसे किसी और से इश्क़ तो जताने दो।
हम भी तो देखे वो हमे कितना आजमाएगा,
एक दिन लौट कर वो ज़रूर हमारे पास ही आएगा।
