कहते हम कुछ नहीं
शिकायतें तुमको बड़ी थी..
सो भेज दी एक शायरी तुम्हें
ख़ास जो सिर्फ़ तुमपर ही लिखी थी..
मुस्कुरा दिए तुम भी,
एक नज़र मेरी ओर देख
फिर ख्यालों में डूब गए..
लफ्ज़ो की गहराई शायद
दिल को तुम्हारे छू सी गई थी..

समझ थी कितनी मेरी तुम्हें
वाकिफ़ आख़िर हो ही गए हम उसी पल..
जब कौन है वो उम्दा शख्सियत
सवाल तुमने कर दिया!

मौसम ने ख़ुशमिज़ाजी में करवट ली आज कुछ ऐसे
बारिश की बूँदें धड़कनों को छू सी गई हो जैसे
लगे कि ज़िन्दगी ने बरसों बाद आज
पहली मुलाक़ात में ही
गले से लगाया है..

बैठ संग ज़िन्दगी लबों पे मुस्कान है ऐसे
शिकायत तो कभी थी ही न जैसे
हल्की सर्द हवा में बातें घंटों तक चली थी
हुई मुलाक़ात कुछ यूँ कि मुझसे ख़ास दिल्लगी थी

मिजाज़ ये हवाओं का ज़्यादा कहाँ ठहरता है
वक़्त युही बेवक़्त अक्सर बेवफ़ाई करता है
कुछ पल का मौसम ठग गया कुछ ऐसे
होश में ही बेहोशी का छलावा हो जैसे

आँखें खुली तो पाया
कुछ खफ़ा सी ही है ज़िन्दगी
आज भी, वैसे ही
बरसों से थी जैसे।

relief, to me
Or
A depressing
thought..
that
I'd never have
any Worst Phase
In my Life.
Ever.
Because.
It's almost
impossible
For
A Phase, to Come
that has
never LEFT..
Since I took
my first breath
Till now.

That blush on your cheek the first time we met,
neither that first passionate kiss,
nor the first time you touched me.

I don't remember
noticing you staring at me,
your eyes only on me while singing,
your cute ways of expressing love.

I don't remember
the way you used to make me smile,
long drives with you for a mile,
the heavenly peace while resting on your shoulders,
walking down the lane holding hands,
late-night conversations, long-tight hugs

I don't remember
The time...
When everything was perfect.

I don't remember you.
Not at all.

सोचा था कि
अब जो टकराए अगली बार
तुझसे ही सीखी बेरुख़ी
क्यूँ न तुझपर ही आज़मा कर देखूँ

जो अब सामने है तू
इरादे बनायेे तो मज़बूत थे
पर ये आँखें है कि
मुझसे ख़ता कर
वफ़ा में तेरी
तुझे नज़रंदाज़ करने से इंकार करती है।

in another country.
Taste of her food
could bring inner peace only.
