चांदनी है बिखरी अंबर के छोर तक
चाँद है कि देखता 'समदंर' की ओर बस,
बहता है प्रेम दोनों का परस्पर,
एक है प्रतीक्षारत दूर अनंत तो दूसरा बेचैन निरंतर।
सोचता है चाँद ये कैसी है दुविधा,
डूब जाता है उसका प्रतिबिम्ब जिसमें,
वही समंदर भी खुद उसी में बहता।
दोनों ही मोहित दोनों ही अचम्भित,
एक डूब कर भी अधूरा तो दूसरा उसे छूने को मचलता।
ये प्रेम भी निष्ठुर कब होता पूरा !
चांदनी बिखेर कर भी चाँद वहां, समंदर यहाँ होता अकेला।
