At times, the eloquence in writings shifts to grandiloquence.
It's better if the words we write stand somewhere between the former and the latter.
In the grand scheme of things, your audience should be able to get you in the light of your work. In fact, you should be able to read your own stories without any hesitation. It's pretty commendable if you have a strong vocabulary, but it's terrible if your readers have to refer to the Oxford every time they read.
In my humble opinion, be simple yet genuinely amazing. Be you.
