बहुत तहज़ीब बहुत अदब है लहज़े में 
ये उजड़ी हुई महफ़िल में बिखरे हुए लफ्ज़ 
इस बात की ताक़ीद करते है 

करीने से सजी धजी बहुत हो तुम
ये फर्श पर बहता अश्कों का लहू 
तेरे रूप की  कुछ और ही कहानी कहता है

क्या हुआ अगर लोग आज मास्क पहने घूम रहे हैं,
कल भी तो असली चेहरा नजर नहीं आता था लोगों का।
पहले चेहरे पर सद्भाव दिखा कर सीने में खंजर चुभोते थे,
नकाब ओढ़कर आज, कुछ उद्धार तो कर रहे लोगों का।

उनकी मनमानी थी कि औरतें पर्दे में ही रहें तो अच्छा है,
वक़्त का मिजाज देखो साहब, आज खुद ही नकाबपोश हैं।
घुटन तो बेशक होती होगी, इस नकाब में २४ घंटे रहने से,
वक़्त मिले तो सोचना, के औरतें पीढ़ियों से कैसे जी रही थी।

चेहरा तेरा पढ़ लिया होता अग़र चेहरे से नक़ाब तूने हटा दिया होता,


दिल में तुझे बसा लिया होता अग़र दिल को भरोसा तूने दिला दिया होता,

I USED TO UNDERSTAND PEOPLE BY JUST READING THEIR FACES UNTIL SHE CAME WITH VARIOUS MASK ON HER FACE

There is always a mask on everyone’s face
If you leave it on you will be ignorant
If you remove it you will be aware
Ignorance will only hurt you eventually
But awareness will kill you instantly

If you know how to deceive, you can have everything yet you will have nothing.

छुपाता हूं मैं आजकल
नकाब में चेहरा मेरा
दुश्मनों से लड़ने को
मेरी तैयारी पूरी है।
मगर
रास्ते में मुसाफिरों का कुनबा
मुफलिस,मजबूर और नाराज
सियासत,कलम और रहमतगारों की
कुछ समझदारी भी जरूरी है।

Where others like me live,
What are you doing in my house
Attacking us when we least expect you
Taking what’s mine and making it a part of thy.
Them warriors in brown and white
Continue to stand strong
Fighting this warfare that’s out of sight.
They’ve taken away my kin,
Into the darkness of those filthy dungeons.
Here we are counting our wins
Where Some come back with battle scars,
But we shall never forget those losses
Where our loved ones left us to fight these wars
And we didn’t even get to say goodbye.
We have closed our doors and our faces too
Just leave us alone already, why don’t you?
We are not weak, we are not frail.
We are made up of strength and might
We are all in this together!
And together we shall fight.
