Today
I happened to discover
our only photograph,
in the novel 'Promise'.
It is of the last autumn,
I guess
in your old sedan.
When you sought
to place your hand
on my shoulder
to get it clicked.

How quirky it was
and hilarious enough
for me to burst.
And how you
captured it
instantly,
to not let the moment
go.

The snapshot seems
colourless now.
Was it supposed to wither?

Perhaps I've said this before;
Yet I'll say it again.
If you had, for once,
Walked in my shoes,
You would have realized,
That I was right.

I knew that was coming.
No, I didn't say you were wrong.
I only said I was right;
There's a difference.

This was the problem.
I was in your world;
And you were in yours too.
My world was just a blur;
Maybe that's why you left.

Friendship is a synonym where to be self-reliant, and when it becomes a waste, it seems to be the hidden famine of fear. But I thought it was fortunate to realize this lie and I lost forever.

Friendship started just like that
From strangers to best of friends,
Feels like strings are still attached
But our journey needs an end.

I stumble upon our memories
As you are nowhere around,
I wonder if anyone has replaced me
And shares with you the same bond.

They say "Time heals everything"
Damn, it's true!
I learnt to protect myself,
Even without you.

Here I am,
Thanking you for being there
Like a saviour.
Today, I choose to let you go,
For now and for ever.

Everyone has that one friend
They'd choose over everyone and everything
To talk to,
To hang out,
And it doesn't matter
They are always first choice

But now there is an empty feeling
When I realized
I am not that friend anymore.....
