Is what my city comprises of .
Idlis are important ,
Food is still worshipped .
Idioms are a routine
History is spoken of everyday here .
Roads whose ends are stuck together
So that people learn to see
The sky that witnessed
The end and begging of this city
The stories of heavenly marriages
The anger of gods
And their coming together
The minarets of meenakshi's home
And the vaigai
Still drained of waters
By alagar's anger .

My city
Has a story
For every road
For every street
For every home
For every food
For every one .

Sunny days
Cloudy thoughts
Typing word after word
I realize;
The silent taboos
About gods and angels.
And now I don't say
Much at all, for
What is worth...
Shall endure.

Future is harsh as we are trying to become Gods,
Building the Technology that is going to destroy the Lords.

I can't pray to my gods,
They expect me to be strong,
crying at their feet,
rubs them very wrong.

Life is hard -
harder still for some,
