Fireplace hits different.
A wooden house with a built-in fireplace, antique interior, wine and books.
Aaahhhhh...what do i ask for more?

did we
sit around
different fireplaces
and discover
a place
like no other
in the same fire

A fireplace in the house,
That is lit during shower of snow
making me feel warm as frozen,
Though enjoys to play in snow for a while,
Cannot be with it for a long.

Nestled deep in the woods
A quaint cottage calls out
Come rest your weary legs
Sit by my fireplace
To spend an evening
Just being YOU….

THE FACE IN THE FIRE

Before the pandemic hit the world,
my husband and I went to our native place in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh in the month of December when the winter is at peak.

Close your eyes and visualise,

Sun setting evening, multicolored clouds,
precipitating with strong winds washing away the glass panes,
Dim orange and yellow light of the burning fireplace,
Just looking at you holding your hands in complete silence, feeling the warmth as a cocoon covered in blanket.
