When I ask
When I ask for companionship,
I find only emptiness, left alone.
When I reach for fragrant flowers,
All I grasp are dead leaves and thorns.
When I long for convergence,
I stumble into conflict and contention.
When I seek calmness and peace,
I am met with anxiety and tension.
When I search for joy and love,
My aching heart grows cold and rough.
But when I finally accept these limitations,
My gloomy mind begins to lift, and I smile.
