Hope feels like
the tiny rainbow in our living room,
quivering on the floor,
as the sun peeps in
through the glass window.
I crouch near it,
and take it into my hands,
marvelling at the hues dancing
over the creases of my palms.
And then the sun shifts,
and my hands are empty again.
