DEWDROPS
Your nervously shaking palm placed over mine,
Our heartbeats echoing that silent night,
Making our fingers intertwined.
Oh how I wish that night would last a while,
And we'd dance to the rhythms of our heartbeats with our smile.
You touched me with your love,
As dewdrops fell on my cheeks.
Your love was like the dewdrops that falls on a flower,
As winter breaks across the horizon.
But as soon as I could have a moment with my dew,
You abruptly left me there all alone, and you,
Disappeared into the crowd next morning,
Just the way I felt those dewdrop vaporise without a warning.
I realised you we're no different than those crystal drops,
As they vanished they left a cooling sensation on my skin,
Rather a burning sensation of its kind.
Your desertion was exactly akin,
You too left a burning desire, but in my heart and mind.
I cannot reach out to you, nor those dewdrops again.
But I can surely perceive that night again.
I miss you, so much that every time I'm under a winter sky,
Dewdrops fall on my cheeks, and I sigh
I'll come again, witness this departure to my delight,
For I know this time, this night won't last for a long time,
