ocean behind her ribs
in the era where people
hardly care to take
a dip in one's soul.

She is riven by the whirlpool
losing her undertow to the unknown tidal waves
seeking anchor in the kelps with her tender roots;
Her fingers trail through the briny waves
feeling the rough coral edges
bereft of any entity yet so beautiful.
She understood
her sextant mislaid, perhaps forgotten,
yet leading her to unexplored dimensions,
as the Hyacinths filled her eyes
with dreams once more.
