The bouquet of love
symbolizes my floral
love for thine eyes,
tells me to enhance
the dainty blooms
oozing sublime
fragrance.

is but a graveyard
for all the dead flowers
it holds.

Yet we call them beautiful.

I paused,
at a loss for words
when you came sprinting
towards me with a bouquet
in hand, apprehensive, and,
got down on your knees, and,
proposed me, like I have
always envisioned you
proposing me in my fantasy.
I couldn't convene words
to enunciate how I felt when
you winked at me and
asked, "Will she like it this way?"
I was numb.
Do you hear? I was numb.
Still I managed to fake a smile.
And when you turned
to scoot off, a tiny drop of rain,
abruptly, flooded my eyes.
