You've felt it, the intense longing!
Somehow, it feels soothing,
even when you miss it.

It felt so strong when it began,
yet you don't know where it begun.

You've found it in the Mountains,
strolling around the solitary beaches.

Why is it so bittersweet?
The happiness that it exists,
the melancholy that it's not close.

Is it a person, is it you?
Is it a place, is it your mind?
I don't have the answers!

All I know is that it's 3 A.M.,
and you know you can't sleep.
You're not crying, you're not smiling,
it's just the bittersweet emotions,
and you're not able to make
a shape out it.

Today, you liked my post on Facebook.

First time we met, we had gone for
the college ball where my terrible dancing
made you whisk away towards a better
dancing group. We had met once again in
Connaught Place where I asked if you had
dated anyone before and you shrugged
as if to say that’s none of my business.
Next you invited me to your home where
your older sister interviewed me with tough
questions: what do my parents do, if and
how much do I earn. Next, we planned to
meet but never met. We moved ahead,
we lost touch. Today you liked my post.

I went to your profile & liked your happy DP
with your handsome husband. I felt happy.

a razor keen dagger
honed to slice to the bone
jagged and acerbic at edges
barbed to slash and bleed
trawling dark bittersweet arias
hung upon a lovers sigh
as i breathe vermilion
cowping dark calligraphy
interlacing cages for my demons
slung across the vellum
in a macabre series of
mayhem ramblings
rancid and raven
scouring the unhealed wounds
torn with fragile pristine flesh
so that i may stab
again, and again, and again
and again...
