हम बड़े फिक्रमंद लोग हैं
सबकी फ़िक्र लगी रहती है हमें..
जैसे ही किसी आत्महत्या की खबर आती है
हम फिक्रमंद हो जाते हैं.. अवसाद के लिए
सोशल मीडिया पर जाकर लोगों से कहते भी हैं
अपने दुख के विषय में हमसे बात करने के लिए

हम इतने फिक्रमंद हो जाते हैं कि
अपने परिवार और दोस्तों की सुध लेने तक की
सुध नहीं रहती हमें, कुछ समय के लिए।

हमें जैसे ही खबर मिलती है
कैलिफोर्निया या अमेज़न के,जंगलों में लगी आग की
हमें फ़िक्र होने लगती है.. जंगल की, धरती की, पर्यावरण की,
हम फिक्रमंद हो उठते हैं, आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए

फ़िर हमें ध्यान नहीं रहता...
सिंपलीपाल में लगी आग का..
या संभवत: अपने देश में लगी आग
कुछ कम ख़तरनाक होती हो, पर्यावरण के लिए।
