शोर बहुत था गलियों में, बच्चे मगर खामोश थे
बेटों की रुस्वाई पर हर घर की माँ रो रही थी

ज़ो लफ्ज़ोंसे हमारे
आपकी अदाओंको बय़ाँ करे
हम तो ग़ूलाम है आपके
हुकूम आपका सर-आँख़ोंपे रख़े

Differing through eyes,
Till it grows in time,
In human minds,
with beautiful eventuality.
