My fraternity is bleeding red,
The white coats drenched in blood,
My fellow colleagues are fighting for dear life.
When I took my Hippocrates oath,
I didn't know I gave up on the right to live.
That rape threats and acid attacks will now be a part of my job.
I lost sleep over 19 subjects so that I don't fail you when you come to me,
Your life is more precious than my mothers tears.
I never left your side when my mother sat alone every festival, wishing for me to come home.
You see I dropped the most awaited wedding of my sister.
Your survival is my priority.
I never got a chance to hang out with my school friends in reunions,
I was too busy keeping an eye on your vitals for you.
In spite of a 48 hours duty, I still went back to hostel and opened my book.
Your disease was an unsolved mystery, yet I had to find a cure.
My sleep , my food often went unattended,
I worried more that you shouldn't wake up in pain.
All that hardwork and burning headache, I still stand strong in rounds,
Your case requires my utmost intelligence, you are my patient.
I have never given up on you.
Why would you still chose death for me?-
Toughest entrance exam?
-Cracked.
Stared, smelled, touched and made cuts on a dead body at 17?
-Accomplished.
19 subjects?
-Managed.
Dealing with blood, sputum, pus, and urine?
-Ready.
Simultaneously protecting oneself and treating some other suffering from infections like HIV, TB and hepatitis?
-Tackled.
Preparing for one more toughest entrance test amidst not taking enough sleep, food and income?
-Accepted.
But even after all this...
Being beaten by a mob for doing something I'm meant to do?
-SORRY! THAT'S SOMETHING WE WON'T TOLERATE.

I witnessed one of my cousin's sacrifices
when she was far
away from us for years just
because she was pursuing her
passion to become a doctor.-
जिस सहर में घूमते थे बेखौफ होकर,

माँ, बहन दोस्त या कोई आम डॉक्टर,
है वो इंसान, कोई भगवान नही।
सत्ता का खेल कुछ ऐसे चला है इस बार,
मरीज है मजबूर, इलाज़ कुछ नही।-
No one is aware about westbengal doctors....they are suffering so much. This is what our doctors get in return for their selfless services. What a society we are living in. Everyone is busy in ICC World Cup. And media are not even showing this because there is no TRP in this case and most important our government is also not taking any action....so please

Amongst countless hopefuls only a handful emerge,
With eyes filled with a dream.
To become a doctor, to treat the ailing,
Very simple doesn't it seem?
Sleepless nights and starving selves,
Hours and hours of labour,
Skipping sleep and skipping lunch,
Treating those with pain or fever.
You think it's easy being a doctor?
Payscale is all that you can see...
Have you ever thought what goes
Inside a caring doctor's dreams?
Before beating us think for once,
Haven't we given our best?
We are human just like you,
Why subject us to this brutal test?
Life is life and we are not God
It is known to one and all,
So why these atrocities against us?
Tell us where we have gone wrong?
Respect? We don't need that now,
When our lives are in danger.
Assure us that we are safe,
Then we'll return the favor.-
Satisfaction... Unfathomable Happiness...
A voice, almost deafened in his excitement, managed to reach him. "Did he deserve that? I mean, they did say that our son was in critical -"

They try to save their patients
With each and every possibility.
They aren't Gods!!!
Neither they seek your applauds.
They just deserve humanity.
People who fail to understand this
Are loosing their sanity.-
