शब्द को लिखते ही
वो घेर लिया करता
काग़ज पर
उतना ही स्थान
जितने उसमें भाव तथा
अर्थ छिपे हैं
और अगला शब्द
लिखने के लिये
हमें टटोलना पड़ता
सम्पूर्ण काग़ज़ और
कभी कभी सम्पूर्ण डायरी,
तब मैं 'प्रेम' लिखती
और वो घेर लेता स्थान
न जाने कितने ही ग्रंथों का
एक साथ!

उम्मीद लेकर नहीं करना चाहिए...

वांछनीय परिणाम की उम्मीद
समर्पण को समाप्त कर देती है,
या संभवतः कभी समर्पण का भाव
उत्पन्न ही नहीं होने देती।

Between unwanted and unwonted

Once upon a time
Things looked pretty good in cases
Lost diaries and time in a suitcase
A tired rabbit and a tortoise on the staircase
Shouted words in uppercase
Mellowed voices in lowercase.
And a feeling: in no case
Would cases ever stop flowing.
A fall through option was good enough.
But I chose otherwise.
