I waited longer.
Now, our break up
makes my first novel.

There she was,
monitoring my ECG.
There were no spikes or dips,
for a while.
Little did she know
my heart skipped a beat for her.

Too bad, it skipped one too many.
In hindsight, I wish
she wasn't so charming.
I'd have stayed alive then.

And then she said,
"You know, I mean no offense to my family, but I've always hated my surname. So...Umm..."
She took a dramatic pause.
"..Can I have yours for the rest of my life?"

Too generous of her right? To have HER for the rest of my life while she just had my surname.

In hindsight, I wish she had more of ME than just my surname.
I really do!

And those saphhires in her eyes
had my heart pounding for her.
But my jewel trade instincts
took over me, entirely.

In hindsight, I wish
I didn't pluck them out.
They were never meant for trade.
