In the barren desert
of my life's loneliness,
You laid a grassland
full of greenery and liveliness.

For every such strolling wanderer,
Seeking solace and comfort.

Every life is painful,
Every heart pines,
One who doesn't pity self
Grows within and shines.

Take me somewhere
Where I can be fearless,
Unafraid to express,
Where I can defy
All existing obligations,
Without getting scared
Of other opinions around.
Take me there, where
I can be freely fearless,
Unapologetically gutsy.

I know tomorrow's
Uncertainty is certain,
Yet I wish I could at least
Hold and make moments stop
To savour the taste of the present.

You are in my morning musings,
You exist in all my evening poetries,
You're within my verses of silent nights,
And I wish to make you the prose of my daily life.

Of fresh spectacular sunsets.
Bask in the warmth of the sun
In the winter's brilliant sunshine.
Dip your skin in streams of sunrise
To merrily float in the vast sea of life.

It lasted for good days, and maybe some years,
But, end was the destiny that we're having to bear.
Heart says, "Wait!" while mind stayed puzzled,
A movie of our memories flashed and hustled.
Hand in hand, together, we walked some miles,
Dreamt countless dreams, gathered in stockpiles.
Learnt in bits everyday, maybe a lesson or two,
Often extended apologies, for both me and you.
Flowery words to unkind words, I've heard them all,
As fate would have it, leaves were about to fall.
Remember? I stayed awake, terribly late at night,
You'd either fall asleep or end things in a fight.
Who intruded randomly at times were envy and ego,
Hours felt miserable, my core wanted to me go.
Wished going somewhere, where my existence is valued,
Ended up knowing self-worth, where I wasn't undervalued.
Habits go, memories fade, but learnings stay within,
I know you're heartbroken too, it's something we're together in.
