Woke up to a shadow sitting beside me. Startled that it might be a dream, I rubbed my eyes to see if anyone was around. Noone except me and the shadow...wait, it was not anyone else's, it was my shadow sitting with his knees folded bending towards me.

"Hey, I am back." he uttered his first words.
"Who are you?" I questioned back.
"Come on, you should know me by now."
I stared back and said "You look like me but how can that be possible?"
He laughed and said, "But I visit you every now and then...you spend days with me and now you say you don't know me"
I spurted back, "When did you visit me last ?"
He said, "July last year, the year previous it was December and May. First time it was two years back around this time"

I tried refreshing my memory to recall all these periods and replied back, "Not possible..all these periods, I had withdrawn myself. I didn't meet anyone, I didn't want to meet anyone."
He smiled at me and said nothing.
I asked him angrily, "Tell me who are you?"

He smiled again and said "Depression"

Samar was nonchalant as he said these words to Tania. An eerie silence followed.

Tania had been thinking all along whether to give Samar a chance or move on with the guy her family had chosen for her.
Tuhin was a nice boy,cared for her and was always ears to everything she spoke about, even if it was about Samar.

But she was finding it rather difficult to decide...afterall Samar and she had been going around for three years now.

She had atlast made up her mind that she was going to stay with Samar and met him at their usual cafe to tell him the same. Samar however had given up on her and thought that she was there to tell him that she would be getting married to Tuhin.


Tania was the one to break the silence..

শেষ যেদিন তাদের কথা হলো , মেয়েটা বললো , " তোমায় ভুলতে পারবো না অনিমেষ...তোমার হাত ধরে পূর্ণিমা রাতে নদীর চরে দু'জনে চুপচাপ বসে থাকা হলো না, রেললাইনের ধারে সেই যে নামহীন এক বস্তি , তবে চিন্তা করোনা অনি , আমার মেয়ে হলে নামটা আমাদের দুজনের নামেই রাখবো ...তোমার ইচ্ছে মতোই গান শেখাবো ওকে ... উড়তে দেবো , পায়ে বেড়ি দেবো না ...আমায় ক্ষমা কোরো .."

বিয়ের দিন প্রফেশনাল মেকআপ আর্টিস্ট ব্যাপক সাজিয়েছিলো মেয়েটাকে । এতো অনন্য সুন্দর লাগছিলো ওকে যে বলার মতো নয় । দামী ব্রাইডাল প্যাকেজে ঢাকা পড়ে গিয়েছিলো তার গত কয়েক দিনের কান্না , চোখের ফোলা ভাব ।

বৌভাতের দিন মেয়েটা স্ট্যাটাস দিলো , "এই দিনটা সব মেয়ের জীবনেই পরম প্রাপ্তির"
