I retained my smiles
From the teardrops of my words
And started inking the missing verses
Of my life
Then I found the real joy of missing out.

The heart will grow and find a home.
The soul will return to where it belongs.

But before the great love
makes an appearance,
there would be,
handwritten letters,
classroom slowburns,
wild rides,
summer camps ,
never ending chases,
grass stains,
and a hell lot of glow ups
through learning,
unlearning
and relearning.

Just keep them coming.

We we're supposed
to walk eachother
to the dancefloor and battlefield
but we never did.

there were war songs
and ancient ballads
carved on my skin,
you retrieved words from them,
wrote a poetry about me,
plastered the flesh with myths,
& named my demons after
the Greek Goddesses,
reminding how wildly i
could be owned ,
how gracefully i must love
& why i should call my rights
as privileges.

& that was the moment when
i realized you're the one
i'm fighting against.

I saw a man axing a tree
cause it might fall on his
house in cyclone.

I also saw people
burning a forest
otherwise the elephants
would come and reside in it.

I often see people
imagining a destruction
that not happened yet
and removing its grassroots.

Probably this is how we grow
as humans taking others lives
to flourish us
and making them refugees
in their own home.

Between rage and fear,
the hope could dream
to build a home
away from the distant smoke.
it could learn the language of love.
it could wish to greet death
in an another path.
It could write a poem
against the ending of a story
it already knows.

Is it a victory to make
the humanness of that hope
begging humanity
to breathe a little longer?

i hold infinities in my soul
that speak volumes
about how the universe
unfolds under the flesh.

how can you scale my depth
with the amount of skin
i wear over it.

through the summer archives
&
that bookmarked sunset,

Your transients still reach out
to my decaying courage,
everytime my hands go cold,

to gently remind there's a lot more
warmth can be felt while chasing
the distorted dreams.

Things I've saved for you

â– scars that do not speak of past
â– secrets that never went astray
â– residual innocence that kindles in wild nights
â– timeless dreams filled with endless springs
â– a spine that can hold your madness and more
â– and a corroded heart that turns brittle
by right amount of love

you're the
color i use as highlighter,
the page of diary where i place a rose,
the lyric i dream along,
the song i often hum,
the florals of a summer dress,
the sunday morning coziness,
You're like all the little things
that never fail to make me happy
But mostly you're the word
i try to place in every poem that i write.
