deep memories and

perfume, that clung
to the dress you sprayed
it upon, and brings

that you spent in it,
when you wear it again.

Dear high school best friend,

Years have passed, since we met. Times have changed, but never have we left.
"No matter what come and go, we'll always be sticking together to steal every show!"

We promised this while parting our ways in high school.

The crowd made us uncomfortable, but you found your perfect place in it and me, I took the corner, and you thought it was not cool.

We did stick together, but I was in the corner, and you in the center.

Our songs never changed, but our chorus did.
While I enjoyed singing it with you, you considered me a kid.

So you found a new song too, I was fine because for me, the old ones for true.

I saw you moving away, with each day, never wanted it, but couldn't do anything to stay.

And now when I look back, I realize all that I lacked.

It surely was a new journey, not for you, but for me.

I neither regret nor do I grief, because I have found my perfect relief.

To be in a corner is never bad, when I have my people
whether I'm happy or sad.
