The last boarding call for the Emirates flight to LA came over the intercom.
Nina glanced once towards the hall she had come in from, nearly an hour ago, after her security check.
She was looking back, for the last time, at Mumbai. Then she turned her back on it, forever, and went to stand in the queue for her flight to the place she really considered home.
Unlike others, she wasn't coming back. She had no unfinished business here.
The only thing tying her to this place was family...which was a transaction she had completed years ago.
