Two roads diverged in front of me,
And I wanted to travel both;
Each beautiful in its own way,
One had a pavement and other, undergrowth.

"Take the paved one" my cotravellers said
"It would be easy on your feet"
My heart was with the one less travelled,
Even though it wasn't clean and neat.

I thought and thought of the pros and cons,
Of why should I prefer one over other;
It just made me more confused,
Why can't I walk on both together??

You see, I am not the one to be satisfied
And stay forever on the road I chose;
To walk carefree on the pavement,
And never wonder where the other road goes!

Nor am I the one to walk on the grass,
And not give the other road a glance.
As I keep getting feet dirty in the mud,
I'll wonder- "did I miss a golden chance?"— % &

DEAR GOD,

Today I strive for knowledge & skill,
Tomorrow I will strive some more;
While climbing up the ladder of success,
Help me keep my feet on the floor.✨

There will be some highs,
With people praising all around,
There would certainly be some lows too.
Regardless, help me keep my roots underground.🌱

My thoughts may come out orderly in a stream.
And on some occasions I may fumble.
Whatever be my state of mind,
Teach me to be humble 🙏

On some days I would be pleased with myself,
On some I would be questioning my worth;
Irrespective of what happens in my life,
Help me be down to earth.🌸

My dear diary deserves a shout-out,
She is a friend I cannot live without!

While talking to her on some days I loose the track of time,
While on some days I just manage to write a few lines
Regardless, she meets me everyday with open arms,
And embraces all my sorrows and qualms.

I take her out on a walk on summer nights,
And tell her all about my laughs and fights
I consider myself very lucky to have found such a friend,
Humans get bored listening but her patience has no end.

I want to tell you all something,
But don't know how to put it in words;
For it isn't something that can be seen,
Neither something that can be heard.

Oh, How should I describe it!
I don't know where to start;
It feels as if a ball of warmth,
Is emerging from my heart.

Getting bigger and warmer it goes,
It pats my back and ruffles my hair,
Spreading on to my fingers and toes,
And now it's everywhere in the air.

It is the spirit of togetherness,
-Something that can only be felt;
Smiles, hugs and the divine warmth,
That can make the toughest of hearts melt.

Disco lights overhead hover,
As I stand in a corner sipping diet coke,
Trying to avoid the confetti shower,
Yet wanting to blend in with the folk.
In this room full of social butterflies,
I am a lone wallflower.

Everybody has so much to speak,
And It's chaos on the dance floor,
Did anyone notice me sneak-
-Out of the back door?
I wonder what they think about me,
I reckon they don't even care.
It's like I am a fish drowning in the sea,
Desperate to get out, gasping for air.

When the curtains fall,
After a day's toil,
It feels like:-
The meet of raindrops
With parched soil.

Time to settle the dust,
That we create while sprinting.
Time to brush off the rust,
Of every negative thought.  

Time for the much needed sleep,
Which gives us enough momentum
For tomorrow's leap.

Far from the homes of people and farther still,
Right on top of the opposite hill,
Sits the home of my dreams.

No riches or facilities, it is modest looking and rather frail,
But I want to live there for the fresh breath that I would get to inhale.

To wake up everyday to the gentle breeze,
And go about the day's routine with ease.
Far away from sinners and thieves,
Where the only sound would be the rustling of leaves.

Every morning I look at the house longingly,
And my wallet laughs at me tauntingly.
As of now I just adore it from a distance,
But soon I will buy it with hardwork and persistence.

When a memory is replayed,
It soothes the fatigued brain.
A smile spreads across the lips,
And kills the day-to-day strain.
So keep forming new memories folks,
For these memories will wash away all your pain.

What we absorb, we give off;
And when we glow, it tells us what we're made of.
Since birth she had been absorbing the rays of sunshine,
At dusk she knew her stars would realign....

...And then she lit up the whole universe-
With light so intense, even the blackholes couldn't confine..

A bunch of years down the lane,
I hope that you'll still be the girl I once knew;
You are one of my close friends,
And my close friends are very few.

We all change as time passes, don't we?
But that I won't be with you to see,
Let's wish that next time when we meet,
You are still you,
And I am still me.
