Literary lovers, someone named us...
I was taken aback
When love vanished and only literariness remained
I always thought writers would make the best of lovers
But today I realised what went wrong
I made much of all the words we said
But I didn't weigh them at all
I made us a home with all the words I had
You wrote us a parting all over them
My words were warm
But yours carried more weight
The ceiling collapsed into our fireplace
You built a warm room of your own
I died under the weight of your words

Light may dispel darkness
The moment it arrives
But light that arrives late
Only hurts the eyes
That have grown used
To the absence of light

I feel like writing something tonight
Taking rest seems so uninviting tonight

Even the curtains are drawn end to end
The shunned moon is complaining tonight

My mind is hacking at the vestiges of hope
The reality of this life is unveiling tonight

My heart is no longer on my sleeve
I am learning to do the right thing tonight

What if the sleeve calls your heart back, Namoos?
Sleeves full of shards, I am wearing tonight

look at them.

And puddles into a tomb
That's how the candle mourns
When the moth spirals into its flame

I didn't write a lot this year
I was fixed to a spot this year

It was like a series of autumns
I witnessed relations rot this year

I couldn't untangle the yarn of life
My gut turned into a knot this year

What is making you so cold, Namoos?
I lost the warmth of my heart this year

I tried to write a Sunday poem
But it wanted to sleep a little longer
Like it was monday already

Every kind of togetherness
Is hopelessly stuck
In the moment when
We get to know their name

That's all we'll ever know —
What to call them
But never who we call
