I was a lover of the night
who found 2am more soothing
than the noon
when the darkness
swallowed the cacophony
of streets
I made my way
to the rooftop
to have a date with the stars
that twinkled despite the
sleepy eyes that would miss that part
One such new moon,
I met a stargazer
that tried to capture their beauty
but to no avail
guess somethings were better
appreciated when felt
Smiling back astonished
my mind was stolen by the pearly whites
making me doubt about my love for stars
My rendezvous with this Sun
brightened the mornings
and I found myself
in love with the daytime melody
Reminding me that the biggest and
brightest star was always the sun
and I found myself
turning to a sunflower for one.

Maybe you both love listening
to the same singer.
But the thing is,
even if you love the same singer,
one may like it because
of their vocal range while the other
might appreciate the singer's
versatility with different instruments.
You see, even if you love the same person,
the reason is different.
The same way a destination can be reached
by taking a different route.
People may aspire to be many things,
maybe they all want the same thing.
Should that deter you?
No.
Because your purpose will
always have an ounce of who you are.
Close to your heart.
That makes it unique because it's you.

"All I needed was just one person,

What is freedom
that for which
we run towards pleasure,
torment ourself
and
enslave ourselves to the mind.

What is freedom,
but to be able to cherish and let it go,
at the right time.

Tasting a bad fruit,
doesn't stop you from eating fruits.
Instead you throw it away and
find another good one to eat.
Then why does,
a friend who backstabs you,
makes you cynical about everyone.
A lover who leaves you
after promising forever,
makes you feel incapable
of finding true love.
A bad event,
makes you stop believing
in the magic of miracles.

Good things take time,
but the goodness doesn't cease to exist.

There are times
when you unveil a part of your life,
and realise that life can't be equated with
the zeros in your pay cheque
or fancy titles in a resume,
perfect vacation selfie with a soulmate or
a night out with friends.
It isn't about making your parents
and the society proud,
But being proud of yourself,
acknowledging how beautifully
you have grown
and made it this far!
