SATISFACTION
Satisfaction is a fleeting idea
Don't think you will rest easy my dear
When all you hold dear
Meets you here
More... more...
That's life's song
More... more...
Till we are no more

THE BUSINESS OF EVERYTHING THAT LIVES
For the business of everything
that lives is to grow
Whatsoever lives
and desires not to grow
lives in death
And between now and then
the only gap of difference
is change
The question is not to grow
for worse or good
Just grow!
But which grow you grow
is yours to know and glow

SOLOMON
To do my best and leave the rest
For whom?
For God?
The best that speaks better
But makes the head woman wrapper?
I've got grace and I speak with salted words
I lay in praise all over the world
Though to wisdom I am the adult
Yet to foolishness I stand as a child
There between the true God
And the other gods
There is a neutrality I've easily embraced
There between wisdom and women
There's a compromise I've accepted
I am solomon
Whose mother
Brought down a king
That brought down
Goliath and kings
Has wisdom not taught me to fear women?
Or has it not taught me
To control desire is to control life?
I'm solomon;
The crux of all that's foolishly wise
I'm solomon
Keeper of many wives
I am Solomon, baba for the girls

THE TALK OF THE TOWN
No one is perfect
Not even perfection herself is perfect
They talk about me more than the stars wink
My rumours shine like the sunshine
At night my stories lit their skies like the moon
I'm the talk of the town that wakes with the morn
Intensifies at noon
And follow them to bed at night
'Have you seen the pastor's son?' they ask
'He's got a girlfriend'
'Mary must be a prostitute for getting pregnant'
'That man is such a drunkard'
'His loyal wife gave him a bastard'
Our stories travels than the wind
With 70 luggages of people's opinion
The talk of the town
Are children that babble in their houses
And are misunderstood in the public
They are all the thoughts that matters
Yet shunned for actions undiscerned
The talk of the town is the most bitter experience
That's sweetest on ignorant lips

WHY MUST WE FALL?
I and you; adult after youth
The discrepancy of our past and present
Jericho walls
Brought down by the shout of life
Crayons broken due to pressure
I wonder, why must we fall?
How did hours of chat
Reduce to seconds of hello?
Deep conversations
Now shallow communication
I wonder, why must we fall?
Why must we fall?
Young babes which have crawled
Now standing tall
Should they crumble once more?
Life defeats the strongest love
Families turn strangers
Distance the serial killer
Murders helpless bonds
Blip blip, the suicide bomb of separation
Tick tock than TikTok
Yes, life builds up to collapse
But must we also fall?

THE SKY WITHOUT STARS
He doesn't girt Agbada to parties
And the lagbajas that move the parties
Are an excess excuse
For him Tuwo and Gbegiri aren't siblings
And Jollof rice with Chicken don't make nice couples
What shall he do at a party?
He thinks events are mere Kpanti
Where people are deluded with a sense of freedom
Conversations are suicidal mission
So he mimes with silence in his mansion
Television is perfect re-vision
His only exposure to human nature
Patriotism, Religion and Education
His three musketeers
Morality, Pseudo-smile and Self-conceit
His mother, wife and children
You see, he has never tasted love
How can he tell that it tastes sweeter than Vintage Port?
He's never been driven by company
His management skill is only for company and Porsche
He who bears a child called 'Fun' with boredom
Whose life is a finite sequence of rigid process
Such is a sky without stars
Hey, why shine through the moon alone when you can sparkle through the stars too?
Don't you agree the skies look brighter and beautiful with the stars?

De Ja Vu
I am good man, I know
Yet those eyes look at me as though they look at him
I was being judged for another man's crime
Instead of seeing all the liquid of good bottled within me
They saw all the bad he has ever spilled
I was living in my present but trapped in another man's past
I have my own voice yet I'm silenced by another man's silence; to them, he spoke for me even when his lips ceased to dance
I was the sweetest candy that they could ever taste but the taste of his bitterness hasn't faded from the skin of their tongues
I thought...
But do my thoughts matter?
I am dubbed an anomaly in time; a retrogression of progression
I'm a past they've lived before; the past that clinged to the future... I'm merely a past trapped in their present
A recurring existence of unwanted familiarity
The dreaded de Ja Vu

WHEN I LET YOU BE
I'm a whited wall on the inside
Painted gold on the outside
I'm a brother to frown on the inside
But friends with smile on the outside
Yet... all you see is my outside
And you say I'm beautiful?
Will you still think I'm beautiful
Or call me a fool
If you see my inside?
I'm your sweet medicine
Your soft pillow on a hard arm rest
I'm your favourite colour
Your best designer dress
Your most treasured treasure
But will I still be the angel standing
If you see the demons I'm hiding?
I'm all that I want you to see
For all that I want you to see
Is all that you wanted to see
So when I began to open up me
I forgot... For you, I'm not me
When I let you be

THE JUNGLE
The Jungle will not allow people like us rest;
He calls our kind insects
And asks Plot to trample upon us
But adaptation is the very breath of the jungle
How can you kill that which breathes same as you?
There's no king among the blind
There is only the wise
And Jungle, as thou art wise... So am I
