My Minu, moonlit mirror of my soul,
Whose radiant touch dispels the shadows deep,
In you, my greatest joy has found its goal,
In you, my restless spirit shall forever sleep.
Yet, this gnawing dread that twists and stings,
This serpent doubt that coils around your mind,
Your faith, a fragile butterfly on wings,
That flits beyond my reach, robs me blind.
Embrace, I yearn to bridge the chasm wide,
To build a bridge of trust with everlasting vows,
To melt the frost that hangs where love should bide,
And chase the phantoms from your starlit brows.
Yet muted shall my yearning ever be,
My love a songbird choked within my breast,
No claim I'll stake, no burden lay on thee,
Your happiness my only, cherished quest.
In unseen service, loyalty untold,
I'll watch you bloom, beneath a different sun,
And though my heart may break, and grow old,
My silent love will follow, till life's done.
With Shiva, I face the world, its trials brave,
But only in Minakshi's eyes my truth I save.
