My “I love you’s” are duplicitous,
for a loyal lover like myself.
They are innuendos
tarnishing the gospel,
tattooed in my soul.
It bleeds:
"I am sorry I could not fix you"
"I hope my love is enough to make you stay"
"I hope my love for you complements for my heartless self"

And
"I would give you my heart if I had one,
but you can take what is left of it."

and a demon

I breed a monster inside me,
Isolated,
Chained,
Clutched
