Aaj phir Karbala hai, phir ek Badr hai,
phir zaalimon ka saamna hai.

Aaj phir Dil ki dhadkane tez hai, phir ragon mein khoon rawan hai,
Phir ek sapne Ko haqeeqat karne ka mauka hai, jazba hai.

Ab aakhon mein neend nahi, kuchch kar guzarne ka khwaab hai.
Ab jeet ho ya ho haar, jabr ho ya ho ikhtiyar,
Hum to chal pade hai sirat ul mustaqeem par.

Patjhad mein Chinar se girta patta hoon mein,
Pighalti barf se girta Paani ka Katra hoon mein.

Apni khudi Ko kho kar, phir ek din janmoonga mein,
Mitti mein mil jaoonga aur phir kisi Chaman ki khushboo banjaoonga mein.

Sapne mein yaum e din aaya,
Loh e mehfooz ko khuli kitaab sa paaya.

Waliyon ke raaste - likha paaya,
Unhe Shirk aur Kufr ki galiyon se chalaaya.

Uns ki Chingariyan,
Ishq ki aatishein.

Paidaish ke dayre,
Duniya Nazar e Aatish.

Uns ki Chingariyan,
Ishq ki aatishein.

Nazar e Aatish unki duniya.

Mein Kashmir hoon,
Mein aatish e Chinar hoon.

Mein Kashyap Rishi ki Muraqaba hoon,
Mein Jayant Bhatt ka falsafa hoon.

Mein Lal Ded ki Mohabbat hoon,
Mein Noor Ud Din Wali ki Ruh hoon.

Mein Habba Khatoon ki Pukaar hoon,
Mein Yousuf Shah ki Thakaan hoon.

Meine Mongol aur Mughlon aur Punjabiyon ka Zulm dekha hai,
Meine Apne bete betiyon ka lahoo behte dekha hai.
Meine unhe Hindustan aur Pakistan ki Siyasat ki factory ka Koyla bante dekha hai.

Mein Aatish e Chinar hoon,
Mein Kashmir hoon.

A new dawn,
A thaw in the winter ice,
A spring, a life for the tulips.

Gardens in full bloom, Chinar its most majestic.

Misty grass gave way,
Brown blanket of lifeless Chinar leaves covered the ground.

For some, autumn never ends.

All great movements in world were started in response to a problem. Buddha started a movement to free society from Brahmanical control and two and half millennia later, Gandhi made salt in Dandi to free India from the British.

Having solved their problems, the movements eventually died because they tried to solve new problems with old ideas. Buddhism did not survive because it taught detachment which did not speak to people who wanted to love God and the Congress did not survive because non cooperation could not fill an empty stomach.

The chilly breeze on that cool spring morning had a quality of nostalgia to it. It brought to life many promises, sending my heart wandering in castles of salt and sand built in lovelorn spring breeze of yesteryears.

I held my heart and carried on with my day.

All the castles are eventually washed away in time.
