Behind the grey landscape (clouds),
That masks the amber blush (sunlight).
I have been lying dormant for a while now.
Dormant and distant,
(A far, dormant planet, or a star)
I have been watching over you somehow.
I have witnessed most of what time could encompass,
Struggling against the gravity of my emotions,
And fighting wars with my own vander Waals.
(Forces that held my soul together, my loved ones)
Ever since I have seen new souls coming to life around me,
New stars shining, shooting, and colliding.
But I have remained the same.
If you could see a little deeper into the further, (sky)
You would find me, Always looking back at you.
But now that you" don't exist,
Or even if you did,
You wouldn't fall for an empty soul like me,
Here I go back to my depths,
To the emptiness that overpowers any ray of light or hope surrounding me.
I will lie there, dormant and distant,
Wondering, will my demons ever let me shine bright enough for you to see,
Or will the void soon wipe out what's left of me.
