Do you remember the day I first found out you smoke? I asked you a question that day. "Why do you smoke?"
You tried to give me some heavily fabricated lies but I was fixated to know the real reason. I won't ask you to quit smoking though your sweat smells horrible. I won't ask you to stop smoking though you suffered with acute bronchitis. I am interested in knowing the true reason behind this habit of yours so that I can help others atleast, before they touch their Marlboros and Gold Flakes. Because I know it's hard to break a habit that has become one with your breath.
So tell me my friend, have you found the reason yet?

Life is too short to keep waiting for your addiction

Actually, just tell me . Do you even remember us ? The uncanny glitter in your eyes when you see me amidst the city crowd told me that you remember me and how I pushed you away because you were exhaling all your life away and my life seemed as vague as that smoke in your vicinity and you remember how you still are a bearer of broken promises . And I am still trying to understand how that weightless puff could reduce the weight of a broken relationship . But I still wish to come up to you and ask . Do you remember us ? The old us ? Do you remember the times when I used to comb your beard with my fingers before they used to smell of tobacco ?

a box and be so much
dependent on it
that you might fall sick.
You might crave
and then the same craving
changes to addiction.
What is addiction?
Well, nothing but what we make
out of small cravings
which we fulfill, when we shouldn't have.
And then one day,
all you can see in the world
is addiction and nothing else.
The smoke becomes your life
and finally,
your life becomes smoke.

Dearest Smoker,

It might cause you an immense amount
of pleasure to light up a cigar.
It might switch on all the desirable bulbs in your head.
It might help you think better, love
better, or even speak better.
It might get you a bucket full of
happiness over an ounce of ash.
It might curb all your food cravings
