"Caged we are"
Holding a kite, I stand on the terrace
Thinking, who holds our anchor of flea,
Caged we are, unlike my kite in the sky,
These wide open doors can't set us free.
Weekend plan was to visit a friend
and weeks of plans in a faraway land,
But caged we are, in rooms full of strangers
Isolated, in prayers and hopes we venture.
We prioritized amusements over family and parties for pleasure
We chose earnings over health and luxury over nature.
Gone are the chaos, silently sits the dust
A calm typhoon has come, a pandemic is the gust.
This peace is white, but brought along a blue,
The whole city sleeps, our dreams might have come true.
