#Helpless Innocence

That was one december night, wind chilling the bones
Still they were out begging, in that shearing cold
Two brothers a sister, all between two and four
Went asking for some money, from door to door
The mother was ill, they completely broke
Never knew a father, who left long ago
Every door bell they rang for help,
Turned out to be a no show

Those small feet(s) now tired less of walking,
More for disappointment, no more they could try
Droopy faces, with fear and tears in their eyes
Return home, now to a dead mother, burst into cries.
